With two ensuite bedrooms set across the upper floors of our converted corn mill, couples and small families can share the same characterful space while still enjoying a sense of privacy and retreat.
The Top-Floor Master Suite
The entire second floor is given over to the master bedroom, creating a peaceful, self-contained hideaway beneath the eaves. Oak flooring and furniture, soft lighting and river views give the room a calm, indulgent feel, with goose down duvets and linen sheets inviting you to linger.
Your ensuite bathroom is just for you, with a bath for long, unhurried soaks and a shower for when you’re keen to get out on the fells. There’s a WC and washbasin too, so everything you need is within your own private space. Wake to the sound of the river, make a drink from the hospitality tray, and take the morning entirely at your own pace.
The First-Floor Twin Ensuite
Snugly positioned above the kitchen, the twin room on the first floor is perfect for friends, older children, or guests who prefer separate beds. Like the master, it has its own ensuite bathroom, with a walk-in shower, WC and washbasin.
After a day exploring the Eden Valley, walking the nearby fells or casting a line on our private stretch of the River Lyvennet, there’s no need to share facilities or wait your turn. Each guest can step straight into a hot shower and emerge ready for an evening by the fire or on the balcony, watching the river slip by.
Having all ensuite bedrooms transforms the rhythm of a stay at Steele’s Mill. Two couples travelling together can each enjoy hotel-style privacy, with the shared living spaces on the floors below for time together over breakfast or a glass of wine.
For families, the layout means parents can retreat to the top-floor sanctuary while children or teenagers have their own bathroom on the first floor.
